Tax Revolt Rally 2009-Taking Back California

Today we decided to attend KFI's Tax Revolt Rally at downtown Fullerton's Slidebar Cafe. John and Ken have taken on this tax revolt due to the rise in California state taxes by the California legislature. The duo are targeting the Governor, and a trio of Republicans for violating a signed pledge not to raise taxes. We already pay a high gas tax and the highest income tax, and sales tax in the nation and now with the other tax increases just approved by our legislators enough is enough. While at the rally they played a sound bite in which Governor Schwarzenegger, in 2006, stated “I will not raise taxes on the people of California.” Now we are told that our taxes will be increased $50 billion over the next four years!?! With 15,000 people that showed up outraged and fired up at this rally it was nice to know Jonathan and I aren't the only ones who are tired of lies, broken promises and insane taxes. It was such a great turn out, but never did we think it would be such a big event. Many had signs that read, "Taxes are way too high, somewhere, somehow, someone’s going to pay–us, Benedict Arnold Traitor, Total Recall Arnold, Raped by the state, Corrupt politicians–taxation without representation, No on 1 A, Recall Arnold, Sacramento is sick, Californian Leaders betray us taxpayers. One sign read “U.S. unemployment 8.5%.” The next line read "California’s unemployment 10.6%” with the final line reading “state workers unemployment 0%.” Another sign read “How do politicians spell pledge L-I-E” with another reading “born free, taxed to death.” Some of the streets near the rally were closed, and freeway off ramps to get to the location were busy, stopping traffic on the 91 freeway. If your not familiar with John and Ken they were highly instrumental in removing former Governor Gray Davis in a recall election. The two are known for their blistering attacks on criminals, crooked politicians, officials and anyone who comes within their radar. This is only the beginning of Tax Revolt 2009 folks we shall see what happens next b/c Californians are mad. I hope Politicians in California are scared shaking in their boots!
