Today I took a trip today with my mom, sister, Miriam, and the boys down to the Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar. My brother Jason graduated as a Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Marine Corps Civilian Police officer(say that ten times fast). During the course of 10 weeks, he logged 300+ hours and learned weapons handling, defensive tactics, patrol methods, riot control and how to perform vehicle searches. To get to where he is, he had to pass a board interview process. After his application was chosen,Human Resources Office notified him and so began the background check, physical exam, physical agility exam, and psychological profile along with the 10 weeks of training. The newly-trained civilian police officers replace positions once held by the Marines Military Police, which is what Jason position was as a reserve. The new additional civilian police positions will give the Marine military police officers a chance to train and prepare more for deployments, putting them where they are needed. It's been a long process in getting to where Jason is now, but it was so worth it!Right Jason!?! We are so proud of my brother and what the future holds for him as a MCAS Civilian Police Officer. Congratulations to my little brother he worked so hard for this. We are proud of you and we love you Jason.

A proud big sister.
