Our Neighborhood on Halloween

Our neighborhood on Halloween is insane to say the least! Every year it seems to get busier and busier! I drove home and by the time I got home around 5:30 the streets were packed with cars and hardly any parking was left. It seems that every year the neighbors try and make their homes more and more elaborate with their Halloween decorations! I really love how creative the neighbors have gotten and how cool it is to see a whole street ( not ours, nutwood) get into the Halloween spirit. Everyone from Fullerton seems to come over b/c it's become the place to go on Halloween! We took the kids out and lost Kai a few times ( gave myself a few mini heart attacks). It was that busy there thatwith a blink of an eye the kids seemed to get lost for a few seconds in the sea of trick-or-treaters! Some people even had haunted houses that you could go into and mazes too! I wonder what next year will be like!?!

October

October has been a busy, but a fun month for us. We had a great time going to the pumpkin patch twice with the boys,a Halloween party, music class, and Nainoa's school carnival. Here are some pictures some some of the fun things we did this month!

Yes I'm a Cheesy Mama

Nainoa starts school on Monday and I had been on a search to find him a backpack and lunch bag. I ordered three different backpacks and let him pick. He ended up with one from L.L. Bean with sharks and fish on it. Being the cheesy mom that I am I sent it to get his named embroidered (not sure if that's the right word monogrammed?). I noticed during the school year that when I took Nainoa to school for speech therapy all the kids backpacks outside the classrooms on hooks had their names on them with marker. So I made a mental note to make sure get Nainoa's name on his backpack. It's not bold, but you can def. see his name on the bag. So here is what his backpack and lunch bag looks like. Jonathan thought it the print was rather busy, but Nainoa loves it and can't wait to use it. Anything to see a smile on his face right!?! ;)

Look Who Needs Glasses!

So I took Nainoa to get his eyes checked before school started and found out he needs glasses. Ugh my heart ached as soon as the doctor told me. I felt so bad he had gotten my bad eye genes. Visions of my childhood wearing glasses flashed before me especially those horribelschool pictures, you know the kind you take for picture day. I had ugly glasses b/c my parents thought they were doing a nice thing by letting me pick out my own glasses ( purple, roudn tort. shell, clear with pink wire, big bright red ones). Nainoa seemed excited about the whole thing and off we went to the mall to search for a pair that weren't as dorky as the ones I had as a kid. We found some and he seems happy. He asked today when he would get his glasses. Here's a few pictures I took of him trying some out. I can't believe how much older he looks with glasses.

My Bento Madness!

So I've been making Nainoa's lunch for about a year now and it's gotten sort of plain and boring. I love color and was searching around for cool kid lunch ideas and came across lots of Bento lunch sites! I was hooked the answer I was searching for! The colors, fun shapes, different bento boxes, and all the fun accessories that you can get to make lunch super cute and fun for kids. I ordered some stuff online and found these adorable crustless sandwich presses (my boys don't like to eat the crust aww..... just like their mama) in a circle and heart shape. I tried it out today and Kai loved it!

Condiment holder cute!

Little cups to hold small snacks and some tooth picks.

Silicone cupcake cups for dividing snacks.

Food dividers.

Cute little food picks I couldn't resist.

This is my William Sonoma find.
