Chinese New Year & Valentine's Day Celebration

A few days before Valentine's Day our playgroup had a little party to celebrate Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day at Hillcrest Park in Fullerton. I really wanted to to something different from your typical Valentines Day gifts and came up with crayon rolls! I had no idea how to make them and quickly found many vendors made them and sold them on Etsy. I figured it would be more meaningful if I made them myself. I have a sewing machine, but didn't use it a whole lot since I didn't know much about sewing. I got on the web and looked around and founds some mommy blogs that had instructions and was inspired. I had fabric at home from other projects and figured if worse came to worse I could always buy them on etsy. So off to work I went that crazy week in January that rained like there was going to be no end. A few here and there every night and wahla 40 mini crayon rolls ready to go for this fun day! I had little labels made that said, " Happy Valentine's Day Nainoa & Kaileo."I was so proud that I made them...granted they weren't perfect, but it made me feel good that I had made them for the kids in my playgroup! Nainoa had a blast at the party. If your wondering where Kai is he stayed at home with Nana hee hee hee! All the kids really had fun decorating their own bag for their Valentine treats everyone brought to pass out. What made it even better was my sister stopped for a little bit and spent time with Nainoa. I really enjoy hanging out with my play group!

The crayon rolls I made.

This is so cute! My friend Wendy's little boy, Wes, loves to play with Nainoa.
