Get Dressed In Your Tea Party Best

Last Wednesday I hosted a play date with my group at Hillcrest Park. The weather was a bit funny and I wasn't sure if it was going to rain or not, but in the end I decided to go ahead with the play date. I'm so glad we did b/c there was only a light drizzle for just a few minutes and the kids had a blast. I had little mini cinnamon rolls, cucumber with garden herb cream cheese sandwiches cut into stars, fairy bread, fruit and some juice for the kids to snack on. I also set up a little table for those that wished to play tea and two bins of dress up clothes. I wasn't sure how the whole tea thing was going to go b/c usually kids just want to run around the playground. I was really suprised that all the kids that came really enjoyed dressing up playing tea even Nainoa enjoyed it! There was also I craft I had for the kids to do. I wanted to find a tea cup and saucer, but wasn't able to find anything small, so I went with a tumbler instead. I bought some markers that they could draw on the cup with and then bake the cup to make their piece of art permanent. Kai wasn' much for dressing up, but that's okay he's still a bit young. I really enjoy coming up with creative new ideas for the playgroup I belong to and taking photos of everyone having a great time!
