The World Famous Globetrotters Come For A Visit!

The Harlem Globetrotters came to entertain children and teenagers from the Starlight Children's Foundation in the parking lot of Howard Johnson Hotel, the tour's sponsor. Many of these children are battling serious illnesses so taking their minds away from the their troubles even just for a little bit and putting big smiles on their faces was what the show was about! These guys are amazing and watching them move they didn't let a little rain put a damper on the event! The made a big splash as they came in and formed a circle, passing the red-white-and-blue ball over shoulders, between legs and off of feet to the trademark whistling of "Sweet Georgia Brown." This was a great way to get the crowd excited and ready to try some tricks of their own. Later, the team members broke into small groups for photo ops, storytime, ball-handling skills, games, arts-and-crafts .The show, a mix of basketball skills and comedy, is in its 84th year, who would have known that they've been around for so long! Afterwards everyone got to some free pizza and drinks what a great way to end such a fun filled day!
