Metrolink Holiday Toy Express

Yesterday we decided to take the boys and meet up with our playgroup at the Buena Park Metrolink Station to see the Holiday Express train. This is the 13th year this 450 ton brightly decorated train has traveled from city to city collecting toys for those less fortunate children. People brought their unwrapped toys to the station where the the Southland Firefighters "Spark of Love" toy drive was taking place. The train visits 47 cities in 6 counties (Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, San Diego and L.A.) They had a little show put on by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and friends for the kids before they headed out to the next city. Jonathan thought the storyline was strange and so did a few others in my playgroup. I couldn't hear much of it as I went to higher ground to get some photos. Nainoa enjoyed the train and all the bright lights. He didn't like the loud sounds the trains made as they zoomed bye the station. Kai on the other hand, was not a happy camper at this event. We figured he was tired from not taking a nap earlier that day.

Hanging out with playgroup friends.

Here come the train!

Kristin and Annika having fun.

  1. That sounds like so much fun! You are such a great mom. By the end of this week there will be lots of clohes for the "Sanchez" grandkids at their house. Hope they work!
