I found this pro breasting public service announcement and found it very touching. It made me realize that is was worth the pain and struggle we went through trying to get nursing down. With Nainoa I just couldn't do it and I ended up being so disappointed in myself for giving up after 3 months. This time around I really wanted to breastfeed and again we struggled through it, but in the end we found light at the end of the tunnel. It's incredible how breast milk contains the perfect amount of everything a baby needs and that it's continually changing to meet his/her needs. I don't know how long I'll nurse the the baby, but at least until Kaileo is a year old.
In order to listen to the music you have to go down to the end of the page and hit the pause button on the music player to stop it and then come back and hit play on the video.
Here's some info I found with regards to the song:
The song is "Duerme Negrito" sung by Mercedes Sosa, a famous Argentinian singer. It is based on a traditional lullabye, sung to the baby to make it sleep, as the Mama tells the baby how hard she has worked in the fields all day, to bring little special treats to the baby. 'Duerme Negrito' means 'sleep little black boy' and 'negrito' and 'negrita' are terms of endearment for babies in the culture.
